Spring units are the traditional and most cost effective form of rail seating. Units are expected to last at least 10 years in service, many refurbishments are after 20 or even 25 years. A further significant advantage over alternative products is the flammability issue.

Zig zag springs, as well as being an option for rail seating are also widely used in car seats. Toyota is the most recent contract completed by Wade Spring.

Replacement seats for the car restoration market with Rolls Royce Silver Ghost, Pre-War Bentley, Model Y Ford, Jaguar SS/SS1 and M G Models TA, TD AND TC being among the projects worked on.
